YFFR SUPPORT DURING COVID19

Yoga For First Responders Announces Platforms for Proactive Support During Covid19

YogaShield® Yoga For First Responders®’ (YFFR) Founder and CEO, Olivia Mead, has made an important announcement on 4 specific ways YFFR is offering a targeted response of support to our community during this time of Covid19.

Watch the video above or read below to learn about the proactive outreach measures YFFR is making available to first responders, military, the healthcare workforce and YOU.

#1 Cyber Academy

The YogaShield Cyber Academy is an online platform available on your computer, an app on Apple or Android phones and tablets, as well as Apple TV, Amazon Fire, Android TV and Roku.

Cyber Academy offers audio and video recordings for yoga, mindfulness, resilience, and recovery including guided tactical breathwork exercises, physical drills, and neurological reset meditations ranging from 2 minutes up to 90 minutes and everything in between. New content is released every other week.

Cyber Academy will always have a free resource section available as soon as you sign up, along with a subscription model for access to the full library of content.

We are now adding a specific collection for Covid19 Support. This content will also be free.

For the full library, you can subscribe as an individual, or, if you are a first responder, military personnel or healthcare professional, your agency can sign up for a unique department subscription. This means that anyone in your agency will have a special link that offers them a heavily discounted rate. The monthly fee is less than the price of one cup of coffee. There are two options for a department subscription. If you are interested, please email cyberacademy@yogaforfirstresponders.org

#2 Social Media Live Classes

Once to twice a week, our teachers around the globe will be going live on the YFFR Facebook and Instagram platforms providing live class content. Follow our pages and tune-in to these live classes @yogaforfirstresponders on Facebook and Instagram.

#3 Private Zoom Classes

Some departments that have been using YFFR’s in-person programs will now be having their classes led online via Zoom Meeting. If your agency is interested in a private Zoom class with one of our teachers, whether you've had a YFFR program in place or not, please email programs@yogaforfirstresponders.org

#4 Conversations from the Front Line

The YFFR Executive Team will be conducting interviews with members of the community who are on the front line. Nurses, police officers, firefighters and EMS, dispatchers and more. We want to hear directly from them what they are up against and how best we can support them as individuals and as the YFFR community. These interviews will be posted on our social media platforms and within our monthly newsletter.

For all of the content above we will be opening our offerings specifically to invite and include the health care workforce.

Please share these practices with the people you know who are working hard and selflessly for the health and safety of others. If you have additional ideas, we’d love to hear them! Let us know by emailing info@yogaforfirstresponders.org

We are in a unique time where adversity and challenge are not just appearing in our individual lives, but as a global community. This also creates a unique opportunity.

Helping others has proven to release feel-good hormones such as oxytocin and dopamine. Therefore, if you want to not only receive support but to give it, consider donations to the charities that are able to provide a beneficial service during this time such as food pantries, online learning, PPE companies and of course, YogaShield® Yoga For First Responders®, a 501(c)(3) non profit.

The economic hardship of this crisis is affecting all of us, and therefore donations do not have to be big in order to make a difference and to make you feel empowered. Micro donations are a great way to keep circulating energy and add to the momentum of so many people’s creativity and effort.

Now is the time to stand on the foundation of our practice and be the warriors that we are!

Once again, for Cyber Academy please visit our website or email cyberacademy@yogaforfirstresponders.org.

And for private Zoom classes for your crew, please email programs@yogaforfirstresponders.org.

Thank you.
